Look! Who’s Talking La?
“Look! Who’s Talking La?” is the title of our very first Speaker Idol Show that will be launching mid September on Active Channel TV. It all started from a chance encounter with Todd, CEO and producer of Active Channel TV. From our conversation, he learnt that Andrew and I were writing a book on public speaking. And as we were brainstorming on ways to promote the book internationally, the idea of doing a speaking show hit us. And before we knew it, we were making plans of shooting a Singapore version of Speaker Idol.
We sent out an invitation for contestants and within days, we shortlisted five. We booked the venue and rented the equipment. We even invited two other top-notch speakers to be our judges. And boom! We had our pilot run of Speaker Idol on the fateful day of 11th August.
Here are some of the pictures that we happily snapped away using my digicam while producing the program. Official pictures will be up much later. Enjoy!
Our pilot contestants… I know, I ask the same question too. Why only guys??!!
Our distinguished judges. From far left: Colin (a.k.a Simon Cowell), Cherlene (a.k.a Candy Girl) and Eric (a.k.a The FAQ Guy). Okok.. the nicknames suck big time! The truth is we have yet to come up with alias for ourselves. Suggestions are most welcome!
The towering guy you see here in the picture is Todd from Active Channel TV! He is also the video man for the day.
The guy in black is my partner-in-crime, Andrew Zhan. Also the host for our show - our local version of Ryan Seacrest!
Judges goofing away… or was it Javier, Contestant #5 who has successfully cracked us up?
Shoes happen to be the theme for the day as well…
Enjoy the rest of your day!
Cheers,
Eric Feng
Your Public Speaking Coach
P.S: I want to take this opportunity to thank some of you for being so spontateous in suggesting titles for the Speaker Idol program. It was after much consideration that we decide to use “Look! Who’s Talking” with the “la” for some Singapore flavor. Thanks very much!!!
P.P.S: I have previously written a post on this –> Is Singapore Ready For The Next Speaker Idol?
