I just got wind from my publisher that The FAQ Book on Public Speaking has hit Kinokuniya’s bestseller! (DO THE CHICKEN DANCE!) And we are very close for MPH and Borders. Not sure how many books we sold thus far but hey, bestseller at one of the top bookstores in Singapore… that should mean something right? And here’s the best part, we haven’t been actively promoting the book. So I suspect it has got to do with YOU! So here’s a BIG hug from me and Andrew.

Till date, I have done three book talks, two at KL (for MPH) and one at SG (for Kino). Though many seasoned authors have advised against giving book talks since they are a waste of time, I still did it for the experience. And I am glad I did because it was both exhilarating and heart-stopping to speak in front of strangers who can leave anytime they want.

Do you know that at my first talk in KL, I started with only a pathetic THREE listeners! One of them was a little boy who still needs his mum to feed him… it’s really sad. But after a while, we started to get a crowd. Thankfully. 9

We started with really small crowd. 3 adults, 2 kids and 1 passerby.

And then people started getting curious and a crowd builds up.

And then came the book signing which was my favorite because Andrew and I get to write personalized notes for our new-found friends.

And then grew.

Here’s our friend from KL (Tian Yan) whom we stayed with. Thanks to him we got a roof above our head, cheap DVDs to buy and of course delicious food to eat.
