The Public Speaking Blog Has Turned TWO! (Read On To Grab Your Free Gift)
Can you believe it?! This blog has survived for yet another year! I once read somewhere that 4500 blogs are created everyday and almost 80% of them never lived through first year. That’s why I think it is absolutely legitimate to kick a BIG FUSS for being around for 730 days!! Judging from the number of exclamation marks I have used in one line, you can tell how excited I am. C’mon, I wasn’t even that excited about my own birthday this year…
So how has The Public Speaking Blog fared for the past one year?
Pretty good I would think (and that is contrary to how Asians usually respond… since we are suppose to be humble). In fact, I wrote an extensive commentary last Dec which you can read here: The Best of 2007.
In terms of numbers, here’s a quick overview.
The Public Speaking Blog has an archive of 379 articles till date, which is about 15 articles a month. The number is still relatively high because I used to blog everyday. Twice even. But lately with the increased number coaching clients I have (which I am thankful for!) and public programs I am leading, the frequency has dropped to about minimum one every week. (My bad!) To compensate for that, I make it a point to write more for each entry.
Traffic at The Public Speaking Blog has doubled since Mar 28, 2007! That’s of course excellent news. I used to draw in about 1000 unique visitors a month but since last Sept (
If I am lucky, I hit 4000 a month. (usually thanks to Digg, Lifehacker or my local press). Personally I think these numbers are nothing to boast off compared to the seasoned bloggers I know of (say Steve Pavlina or Brian Clark).
What I am thrilled about, however, is the privilege I have to share what I know about public speaking to 2000 over people from all around the world!!!
The friends I made over the past one year has also been phenomenal. Just to name a few, we have:
Darren Fleming who gave me some good tips on how I should include my name in every blog
John Kinde, who has sharpened my observational humor by a few notches
Scott Ginsberg, a professional speaker whom I aspire to be
Nancy Tierney who was always so warm
Bronwyn Ritchie who has enthusiastically promoted my book
Lisa Braithwaite who supported my book project with her complimentary audio
Jason Peck who added me on facebook (how cool is that!)
Andrew Dlugan who gives excellent speech critique.
Thanks to The Public Speaking Blog, I have also made friends from ping.sg, a community of Singaporean bloggers! Some of them were even very kind to grace my book launch last Dec. Beautiful ladies like Daphne, Rinaz, Estee and cool blokes like Ming Shen, Brennan and Herry.
Visitors of this blog have also became so much more responsive (a wish that all bloggers have). Even though the comment button has been disabled (no thanks to SPAM), the number of sign-ups for my weekly speaking tips
has tripled to 1617 subscribers. Emails I received have risen from a modest 3 to 17 a day! I know, that’s A LOT… and I am doing my best to get them answered within a week.
And how can I forget about YOU! My most revered reader whom this blog is dedicated to. (grins) I want to take this opportunity to thank you a thousand times for your support and more importantly, your commitment to becoming a more connected speaker. Thank you for making the world a better place… and the audience happier. To extend my thanks, I have prepared the best public speaking advice I have in my arsenal of trusty tools and designed some frameworks for you to quickly skyrocket your speaking success. They come in the form of 7 video clips.
Did I mention that you stand a chance to have a FREE 15-min telephone call consultation with me personally? I will even pay for your phone call charges, including long distance! Go ahead and click HERE to find out how.
The best way to thank you is to continue supporting you in becoming the best speaker you can ever be (and then some more). It’s my intention that you will receive the loudest applause, the sweetest compliments and the most enthusiastic standing ovation.
So please visit The Public Speaking Blog as often as you can. Bring along your friends, your colleagues and your dog too.
Cheers,
Eric Feng
